Medication Adminitration Procedure

To ensure that the medication policy is carried out, staff will:

  1. Have the enrolling parent/legal guardian fill out a written consent form stating:
    • the correct dosage;
    • time to be given;
    • name of medication; and
    • any additional facts, such as possible side effects.

  1. Ensure that medication is clearly labelled and in its original container.

  1. Check expiry dates on the medication.

  1. Maintain a written record of medication administered, stating:
  • time and dosage given; and
  • signature of the staff member involved.
  1. Return all unused medication promptly to the enrolling parent or legal guardian.
